Summer GCSE results

20 August 2010

Headteacher, Geraint Jones is delighted with Quinton House School’s GCSE results.  He said, “We are over the moon with our results this year.  Our excellent GCSE grades add to our outstanding A-level results and capped a very pleasing year for us.  We have continued to build on the success of previous years by improving students’ performance across the board.  We are particularly pleased with the very high percentages of grades at A* and A, which is testament to our growing reputation of teaching excellence.

GCSE students were celebrating with 90% of students scoring 5+ A*-C grades including English and Maths. An impressive 35% of grades were at A*/A.

Top performing students include Ella Matthewman who gained six A*s and four As, and Matthew Chown who gained 3A*s and 6As.  Matthew will study Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for his AS levels at Quinton, and hopes to study Medicine at University in two years’ time.

Mr Jones added, “Students continue to reach their full potential at Quinton House, and they deserve the utmost praise for their efforts.  As a school which does not select students on academic ability, their achievements, and those of our staff, are commendable.
