Superb GCSE Results for 2011
Pupils at Quinton House School in Upton achieved superb results in their GCSEs this year with 92% of them achieving 5 or more A*-C grades including English & Maths. The school’s growing reputation for academic success continues with 30% of all grades at A* or A. The Maths department at the school has also been highlighted as one of the top performing departments in the country with 54% of pupils scoring A* or A in the subject.
Twins Joe and Amy Moore swept the board with 11A*s and 10A*s respectively. Both will continue at Quinton House with their A levels. Amy hopes to study History at University and Joe hopes to study Physics. Amy also studied AS Art a year early and gained an impressive A grade. Elisabeth Stroud’s 7 A*s and 3 As also stand out as a fantastic achievement, and Elisabeth will also continue with her A levels at Quinton studying French, German, Maths and Business.
Principal Geraint Jones is delighted with such success. He says, “We have developed somewhat of a reputation over the last few years for outstanding GCSE results, and so whilst I am naturally over the moon with another bumper year, I must also admit to a slight sense of relief that our pupils and staff have done it again! As a school we concentrate our efforts on the quality of our teaching which continues to reap rewards for our pupils at this time of year. I must also pay tribute to our pupils who have worked so hard and our parents who are incredibly supportive.”
