Welcome back from Mr Hoyle
Summer Term 2019 - Welcome Back
25th April 2019
I would like to welcome back all children, parents and staff returning at the start of another term at Quinton House School.
The highlight of the Easter holidays was undoubtedly the Rugby and Netball Tour to South Africa which provided many memorable adventures and experiences for all involved. The daily photographs on our school Twitter page demonstrated the range of activities that involved some very competitive sports fixtures; supporting the Goedgedacht Trust; outdoor adventurous activities, including a zip wire journey down the Elgin Valley; sightseeing that included Cape Town, Table Mountain, the Garden Route and Robben Island; and exploring the wildlife on a jeep safari.
Our staff training day this term ensured that all members of staff are fully trained to respond to any first-aid needs as we seek to provide all children with exciting opportunities for out of the classroom learning. We do hope that the Summer Term will allow opportunities for all children across the school to engage in educational activities that will be exciting and memorable. The trips on offer this term include a visit to the Battlefields of World War 1; outdoor and adventurous activities with Bushcraft and PGL; a visit to Harry Potter World; and a visit to Bletchley Park or Alton Towers on our Senior School Excursion Day.
A glance through the school calendar for the Summer Term will also offer a number of exciting events for parents to join us at the school. The Junior School will be commemorating 75 years since D-Day with a special street party at 1pm on Monday 10th June and parents will be invited to join us; Our EYFS parents are invited to join us for an afternoon of Forest School and Den Building activities on Friday 14th June; The Junior School production of ‘Pantastic’ and the Senior School production of ‘Sister Act’ promise to be excellent occasions and families are warmly invited to celebrate the achievements and efforts of the children in our annual sports days and prize giving events. Children will have their work on display in the Art & Photography Exhibition on the 27th and 28th June and we do hope that parents and families will join us for the Summer Fayre and Food Festival on Saturday 29th June, 11am until 3pm.
Engaging with parents in support of the education of our children is a key theme for development. Our Well-Being Week commencing Monday 13th May provides a whole series of activities to which parents will be invited to join us. Should parents feel that they have a particular area of expertise that can contribute to the success of these events or our focus on well-being activities we would be delighted to hear from you. It promises to be a very exciting term!
