Mr King’s Mind is on the Task

A teacher at Quinton House School has been so inspired by the work of the charity Mind that he has challenged himself to a mammoth task of completing a 100km route on foot, from London to Brighton.  Mr King will complete the epic feat over the weekend of 25th and 26th of May, after several months of gruelling training.

The event is part of the Ultra Challenge Series and offers participants the option of walking, jogging or running the lengthy route over the two days, with Mr King electing to step up to the challenge of running it as an ultra-marathon.

“I chose this as a personal challenge but also saw it as a chance to do something positive for a charity I feel strongly about.”

“Mental health is an important subject to talk more about within schools and society in general.  At Quinton House School we do a lot of work to raise awareness with our pupils and staff and so it made sense to support the work of the charity Mind,” said Mr King.

Mind is a national charity which provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. The charity recently worked with Quinton House School to deliver Mental Health First Aid training to sixteen staff.
