Sport & Competition

Our students enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle.

We have a specialist sports team that delivers a varied programme that starts from just three years old and continues through to the Sixth Form.

We run competitive fixtures from Year 3 to Year 11.

We fulfill both home and away fixtures to reinforce a positive sporting culture throughout the school. Additional fixtures and competitive opportunities with other schools include athletics, cross-country and swimming.

We are a member of the ISA (Independent School Association) which opens us up to a network of competition opportunities, tournaments and festivals. We fully immerse ourselves into this to provide our students with as much exposure and opportunity in a variety of sports.

We enjoy competitive fixtures against other schools in the following sports:
  • Athletics

  • Cricket

  • Football

  • Hockey

  • Netball

  • Rugby

We host an annual sports awards evening in the Summer term.

We invite a sporting guest speaker, to celebrate and recognise outstanding sporting achievements from the academic year.

A range of awards and trophies are presented to those who have demonstrated sporting excellence throughout the year, including the Geraint Jones Cup for outstanding sporting achievement, Team of the Year and Sports Personality.

‘‘We strive to provide a programme that encompasses our ethos of ‘sport for all’. A lasting love for sport and physical activity made through strong friendships and memories developed over time.’’

Charley Power – Head of PE

Physical Education and Games is an important and well-regarded aspect of school life.

We promote a healthy lifestyle, values of commitment, resilience, discipline, teamwork, leadership, respect, perseverance, and dedication.

From our well-loved school sports day through to fixtures and competitive opportunities with other schools, we enjoy a sporting culture that is embraced by students of all ages, resulting in young people who are keen to pursue an active lifestyle when they leave us.

For those who are particularly talented in one or more activity, we award evidence-based sports scholarships.

Term time sports curriculum

Each sport is supported by a Games specialist to ensure the very best coaching for the students. We are passionate about listening to our student voice and have created opportunities for girls and boys to play any sport they choose through our extensive co-curricular programme.
