Quinton House School welcomes new Principal
From September 2019, Tim Hoyle, Headmaster will be taking up a new role at Cognita to lead the global educational exchange programme. He has had two very successful years at the school where he has overseen much change and development.
We are very grateful for all that Tim has achieved for our students and congratulate him on his new role in which he will impact on the educational experience of children across the globe.
We are delighted to announce that Mrs Jo Storey will take over as Principal of Quinton House from September 2019. Mrs Storey was formerly headteacher at Thornton College, a 3-18 day and boarding school in Buckinghamshire and joined Cognita last year as a Director of Education. Prior to her time at Thornton she was Deputy Principal at New Hall School in Chelmsford, one of the UK’s most successful co-educational day & boarding schools (1-18 years).
Mrs Storey is married to Darryl and they have one daughter Sinéad. Mrs Storey is a keen sportswoman, has a golf handicap of 10 and is an accomplished tennis player. She is also an ISI inspector and has a fellowship in teaching and learning from the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
Talking about her appointment, Mrs Storey said: “My own experience of education motivated me to become a teacher. I experienced dedicated teaching, from teachers who were determined to make a difference to the young people in their care. As a schoolgirl and as a teacher, I have been fortunate enough to be in schools which believe that education is about developing the whole person academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. I have always believed that a happy child is a successful child, and these are the principles that I bring to Quinton House.”
From her time at Thornton College and more recently as a member of the education team at Cognita, Mrs Storey has a very clear understanding of the ethos at Quinton and will bring to her principalship a wealth of experience and vision. We are all looking forward to welcoming Mrs Storey to the Quinton Community.
